On Monday, February 1 2010 I wake up bright and early and go to work. I feel good and energized. Some teachers even tell me that I look good...that I'm glowing!

This lasts only for a few hours, because by 5pm, my body starts to take strain.

I'm so tired, but I can't fall asleep.  I think I close my eyes for about 2 hours only. I go to work, puffy-eyed and feeling ill. It feels like my body is filled with lead. I can't even eat. I can't sleep again. I have no classes on Wednesday and as much as I don't want to, I have to take the day off to recover. I'm glad I did, otherwise I would have gotten worse.

People underestimate the power of jet lag. While it can suck you into a thick dark sleep for many hours, it can also mess with your routine as your body has to adjust to the different timezones, recovery from the long journey and so on. I guess, the more frequently one travels, the more accustomed your body is to the change.

Egypt (69) I left my heart in Egypt
