Deciding to go to Jeju Island

I've inherited various traits from both my parents. One that I've probably inherited from my mum is persistence and adopting the attitude of not taking "no" for an answer!

When I heard that I was going to have Thursday, Friday AND Monday off for Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) I knew I had to do *something* and not just stay at home.

So I called my travel agent on Tuesday September 29 as I was leaving work.

"I'm sorry, I know I'm calling late... but do you have ANY tickets for Jeju Island on Thursday?"

Jeju Island is an hour flight away from Seoul and is also known as the "Island of Gods" / "Hawaii of Korea" / "Honeymooners Paradise"

I had no real urge to visit the island, but I figured that this would be the perfect time to go as the weather was just about cooling down. (I don't do well in heat AT ALL).

"Sorry, it's fully booked. Now is very busy season you know"

"I know that, but can you please check again?"

"How many tickets would you like?"

"Just one, please"

Yes - I was in one of my crazy spontaneous moods of just book and fly!

I waited while Sunny (the travel agent) looked for just ONE ticket for me!

She told me that the airlines were fully booked.

"Please look again! For any departure time. Any airline"

"Oh! There is one..."

...and Just like that, I bought a ticket for Jeju Island and I'd be leaving in 2 days :)
