Day 3 - Fort Santiago, Wednesday Jan 28 2009

This is one of the oldest fortifications in Manila. It was the former headquarters of the Philippine Division of the US Army. It was occupied by the Japanese military in 1942 where hundreds of civilians were imprisoned, tortured and executed. It was destroyed in the Battle of Manila in 1945. The place is very eerie, as you can tell by the photos.
