Blog Challenge Day 0: February Blog Challenge

I took a bit of a break from the social media scene recently. Not for any particular reason, but I just preferred living more "offline" than "online". I decided to crawl back onto the social media radar at the beginning of January and I started off with my self-imposed January Instagram Challenge.
I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't 100% diligent, but it made me very conscious that I publicly committed to uploading at least one picture per day. My blog has been abandoned. Yet again. So I have committed to yet another challenge!

I have therefore set myself a blog challenge for the month of February. The purpose of this is to ensure that I upload something. Every. Single. Day.
So...let's go!

New Look!

I'm on a few days holiday at my folks place in East London with far too much time on my hands and an internet connection that I'm trying to sap up before I head back to Cape Town (hahaha!)

It dawned on me that this, my blog / my companion / my confidant / my online journal - has been in existence since 2005. With smartphones, tablets and internet access more available that before, I actually have very little excuse as to why I'm publishing less. No excuse, except - I lack one of two or both things: time + inspiration.

I was playing around with my template this afternoon and this one that I currently have seemed to fit perfectly.

...here's to more frequent blogging ;)

My feeble excuses

I've been trying to figure out why I'm not writing as often as I used to before (when I was in Korea ...or even, East London, for that matter) and I could only come up with one reason:

I don't have a comfortable "writing spot" where I can just sit down and let rip with the words. Of course, I have my netbook, but the battery life isn't as strong so I need a power outlet.

I don't know... poor excuse?

Another reason is that I have been too tired to sit and type at night.
Another lousy excuse.

So much has happened (and is happening) that I need to blog about...especially with regards to TESL and teaching, in general.

...oh, another reason is my (lack of) internet access :(

I need to make an effort to blog more and not let cobwebs gather on here....which it has been doing.
